GPS Track | Offline Map Route (iOS, iPadOS and watchOS) · Developer: İkbal Yaşar (ikbSoft) · Effective date: 10 October 2026
GPS Track is a GPS recording and navigation app. We built it so that your tracks and waypoints stay on your device and in your own iCloud account. This policy explains what the app processes, what leaves your device, and why.
1. Data that stays on your device and in your iCloud
- Location data. Your position is used to show you on the map, measure speed and altitude, record tracks and navigate to waypoints. Recordings continue in the background only while you are recording and only if you granted the "Always" location permission.
- Tracks, waypoints, routes, photos and notes are stored in the app's local database and, if you enable it, synced through your private iCloud (CloudKit) container. We cannot read your iCloud data. Every saved track is also written as a GPX file in the app's Documents folder so that you own it.
- Settings and preferences (units, map source, gauge style, folders) are stored locally.
- Motion data, if you allow it, is used on the device only to improve auto-pause detection.
- Health data on Apple Watch. With your permission the Watch app saves workouts, routes and heart rate to Apple Health. This data is read from and written to HealthKit on the device only and is never sent to us.
2. Data that is sent to our servers (Firebase)
The app uses Google Firebase (project operated by us) with anonymous authentication: the app receives a random user ID that is not linked to your name, e-mail or Apple ID.
- Live location sharing (optional). When you start "Live sharing", your current position, speed and altitude are published every 5 seconds under a 6-character code so that people you give the code to can follow you. The data is deleted when you stop sharing.
- Statuses (optional). When you share a track or photo as a 24-hour status, the image and the display name you chose are stored and shown to other users of the app. Statuses expire after 24 hours and can be deleted by you at any time. Statuses reported by several users are hidden.
- Community photos (optional). Photos you submit to the community gallery are stored with your caption and shown after approval.
- Map catalog and update information. The app reads a list of downloadable map packages and the minimum supported app version from our database. No personal data is sent for this.
Offline map tiles are downloaded from the map provider you choose (Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap, OpenTopoMap, Esri, USGS, NOAA, FAA, OpenSeaMap or a custom tile server). Those requests contain the map area you are viewing and go directly to the provider under its own terms.
3. Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We use Adapty to validate receipts and manage subscription status. Adapty receives the App Store transaction information and a random device identifier; it does not receive your name, e-mail or location. Payment details are handled only by Apple.
4. Push notifications
If you allow notifications, a push token is registered with our notification providers (OneSignal and our own PushToAll service) together with your device model, OS version, language, country and app version, so that we can send you product news. You can revoke notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Crash and usage data, and tracking
The app may collect crash reports and anonymous usage data (for example which screens are used, with a random identifier) to keep the app stable and to measure which marketing campaigns bring new users. On iOS the app asks for your permission through App Tracking Transparency before any identifier that could be used for tracking is read. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track", no such identifier is collected and the app works exactly the same. We never sell personal data and we do not share your tracks or location with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Data we do not collect
We do not require an account. We do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts, photos (other than the ones you explicitly share) or precise location history on our servers, except for the optional live sharing described above while it is switched on.
7. Retention and deletion
- Tracks and waypoints: until you delete them. Deleted tracks stay in "Recently deleted" for 30 days and are then removed for good.
- Live sharing data: removed when you stop sharing or close the app.
- Statuses: automatically after 24 hours.
- Push tokens and purchase records: until you uninstall the app or ask us to delete them.
To delete all server-side data linked to your anonymous ID, write to ikbalyasar@gmail.com from inside the app (Settings › Support) so that your anonymous ID is included.
8. Children
GPS Track is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA under the GDPR, the UK, California under the CCPA, or Türkiye under KVKK) you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data and to object to its processing. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
